Birthday Weekend: Ted’s 40th

A childhood friend of mine dropped me an email the other week asking what she thought I could do with my skill set to make her husband’s 40th birthday party trip to Las Vegas even more special. He hadn’t been a fan of birthdays in the past, but with this being such a landmark occasion, she wanted to go all out. After some discussion, we decided to create some branding, a Facebook campaign with a page and event and a shop online to purchase t-shirts, shot glasses and more with this branding commemorating the big 4-0. This is part of what we came up with.

All of the pieces are still falling into place: she is researching hotels, lining up activities and finalizing the guest list…we are working on the Facebook campaign and setting up a quick and dirty Cafepress site for friends and family to get the goods. I have to say, this was one of the more fun projects I’ve worked on in a while, and I’m glad I could do it for someone I’ve known for a majority of my life.

Finally…the Pash has come BACK to the INTERNET!

(Sorry for the WWE reference there. We’re just pretty excited.)

With the help of several friends, the love of family and the support and ju-ju from the universe, PashCreative.com is now launched. Without the technical knowledge of Chip at Creative Spark Columbia, without the confidence of family and the husband, it would not be possible.

We will be adding more content as time goes by, so make sure you make it a habit of stopping by. I hope to make this an area of news, administrative stuff and tips that I come across that can help your small business flourish.

Website Remodel: Cupcrazed

The new, chic bakery trend is cupcakes and Cupcrazed in Fort Mill, South Carolina has been at the very forefront of the cupcake craze. Doing tons of business in Baxter Village, directly south of Charlotte, North Carolina, Heather McConnell and her team are a great example of the entrepreneurial spirit and making your passion your job. Not only do they make cupcakes everyday, they were featured on and WON Cupcake Wars on Food Network!

Cupcrazed is obviously great at what they do…but lacked some skills in cooking up a good-looking website. They had outsourced it, plugged in a few pictures but had left it for dead without some essential information and without updating it regularly. That’s where Pash Creative came in.

Heather gave us a call about a month ago and already had her site and content management system…she just needed for it to be graphically updated, some flavors tweaked, some links built and a designer’s eye was needed on a few elements. We went to work and for her budget, made some great changes that made Cupcrazed website a lot more user-friendly, informative, and aesthetically engaging. She knew how to add and delete content in the main content areas, so we didn’t want to take away her independence..but digging in where she was unsure left a shell she could tweak, with larger graphical elements she liked a lot more.

Email Marketing: Escape Hair and Skin Studio – Charlotte, NC

A friend of ours had a client who needed a poster made into an email blast to send out one month, several months ago; clickable and the whole nine with discounts, deals and links for Escape Hair and Skin Studio in Charlotte, NC. We ended up recreating the poster in a smaller, web-ready format that they could plug right into Constant Contact the next day. The response has been great and we have been contracted to do it each month…the poster AND the email blast!

Newspaper Ad: Chai Expectations

Before we spoke with Laurie at Chai Expectations, we didn’t know that there was a marketing for a dating service strictly dedicated to the Jewish community. You learn something everyday, as they say.

Laurie needed a few ads made for a few different publications and this is one of them that we settled on for a paper in Boca Raton, Florida.

A client approached us on Twitter for some ideas for a redo for his website. “Of course we’ll do it!” we said! (We are a very agreeable sort.) This is what we came up with. We went with something a little more electronic and mechanical to stay masculine. The black and blue was an appropriate color palette we were into at the time. What are your thoughts?
